Part of the new LEGO Castle (2013) theme, 70401 Gold Getaway is the second-smallest set in the range so far. At 199 pieces, including three minifigures and a new horse, it is still a significant set that also includes two vehicles and a small brick-built guard post wall.
The set looks fairly traditional and lacks any of the fantasy elements of the theme. Indeed, it seems that nearly every LEGO Castle variation has had a similar set – for example, this set is reminiscent of the 6055 Prisoner Convoy (1985) and 7949 Prison Carriage Rescue (2010).
