Take the E20 from the Danish capital of Copenhagen, cross the mighty Belt bridges, turn to E45 towards Vejle, then onto Route 28 and follow this view…
Driving into the sleepy town of just 6000+ residents, you wouldn’t believe it is the home of Denmark’s second largest airport – and that of LEGO. (In fact, that airport was originally built by the LEGO Group.) Located in the middle of sprawling fields of flatness, serenity of which is only occasionally broken by a trio or two of wind turbines, you could drive through Billund – essentially a village – and not even notice, if it weren’t for the giant LEGO bricks on the side of the road.
Over the coming weeks, on this blog, I’ll be returning here.
